Our Christian Ethos

St Michael’s Church of England Academy aims to serve its community, within a Christian Vision, to equip our children with skills to flourish in life, in all its fullness.

St Michael’s holds dear the Learning Academy Partnership’s and the Church of England’s vision of John 10:10, that every child will flourish, that they will achieve the very best they can, fulfilling their dreams and ambitions.

Underpinned by the Diocese of Exeter’s vision of Pray, grow and serve with Joy, our vision at St Michael’s is unique to our community. It is forged out of the belief that our children, by developing their own character, learning to live well with others can achieve highly and live a fulfilling life.

Our Christian Vision

‘The Future We Create Every Day’

The Lord says, ‘For I know the plans I have for you …. plans to give you hope and a future.’ Jeremiah 29 verse 11

We believe our children’s future is created every day. Every moment counts.

Our vision is to provide a happy, loving and nurturing environment where all have the confidence to fulfil their hopes and aspirations.  Our inspiring, enriched curriculum promotes a thirst for knowledge and develops wisdom.

Our Christian values

The school’s Christian values underpin our Christian vision and give pupils confidence to listen, question, explore and challenge themselves in pursuit of their learning.
