Number Day for NSPCC

Friday this week our school took part in the NSPCC Number Day! Number Day is a maths inspired fundraising day aimed at children of all ages and such a wonderful opportunity for them to explore maths in a fun environment. Each class took part in different activities.

Reception children were busy in the morning with active maths and then created a number garden!

Our Year 1 children had lots of fun exploring and making number bonds for 10, using cube towers to systematically make the pairs of numbers that make 10. There were also some fun challenges in there too! We also used this knowledge to find and explore the numbers pairs that make 20.

The Year 2 the children have played a number of games that require them to add and subtract, make doubles and use dice. All while communicating effectively with their partners. There have also been opportunities to play Numbots.

Year 3 took part in fun activities to consolidate their timestables learning, played some maths games and completed the Just Dance numbers edition!
