Fresh Ideas Feeding Minds

Our own in house catering service will provide healthy meals for all our children.  Our mission is to improve the health of our children through better eating habits and food education, inspiring the next generation into good lifelong eating habits.

Lunchtimes are an important part of the school day.  Healthy, nutritious, balanced school lunches can lead to better health and a better academic performance. All meals will be made from scratch. As a Trust we are working towards becoming a Food for Life School.  This will entail using quality produce including Red Tractor meats, free range eggs and local produce.

We are able to give the children a choice of hot meals every day with a meat option and vegetarian option.  Picnic bags are available every day. For dessert, the children have the choice of a pudding or fresh fruit.

Please use the MCAS app to pre order your child’s lunch and arrange payment with the option of ordering up to a half a term at a time. Meals will be £2.60 per day for Nursery.

Meal orders for children who are entitled to Universal Free School meals (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) and benefit related free meals (FSM) will also need to be ordered by contacting the school office. For children in Year 3 not eligible for FSM meals will be £2.60 per day. Please see the menu for the Autumn Term below.

Free school meals

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 automatically get free school meals. Parents and guardians are encouraged to apply for free school meals when they enrol their child in school as this can help their child’s school to attract additional ‘pupil premium’ funding to support learning.

From Year 3 onwards, children whose parents are in receipt of any of the following benefits are entitled to free school meals:

  • Universal Credit (provided you have an annual net earned income of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods)
  • Income Support (IS)
  • Income-based Jobseekers Allowance (IBSJA)
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (IRESA)
  • The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit,( provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, that does not exceed £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – ( the payment you get for a further 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)
